Bank of Maldives (BML) on Wednesday announced the donation of 30 additional wheelchairs, marking the continuation of its annual initiative to support people with mobility impairments across the country.
The program, launched in 2017, has now successfully delivered over 360 wheelchairs to individuals living in more than 105 islands.
BML states that it had strategically expanded the scope of the program this year, in order to ensure inclusivity for a broader range of needs.
In addition to motorized wheelchairs designed for individuals who can operate them independently, BML also introduced specialized manual wheelchairs.
The bank states that these new additions are specifically tailored for children and adults who rely on caregivers and family members for their daily mobility.
BML states that its wheelchair donation program reflects the bank’s ongoing commitment to investing in community health and corporate social responsibility, enhancing the quality of life and independence for ultimate beneficiaries and their families.
