Container drops during unloading at Kulhudhuffushi commercial harbour; no injuries reported

A container fell onto a vessel while it was being unloaded with a crane at the commercial harbour of Kulhudhuffushi City on Wednesday.

The Maldives Ports Limited (MPL) told Sun that both the boat and the container sustained damage in the incident. However, no one was injured, the company confirmed.

The incident occurred at around 10:24 am when a container slipped and fell into a vessel during crane operations.

Police also confirmed that no injuries were reported, though the boat and container were damaged.

Authorities said the incident is under investigation.
