With a deadline set for tomorrow night, Housing Ministry states will be no further extensions to the application period for the current administration’s housing scheme.
Applications under ‘Emmenah Boahiyaavehikan’ (Housing for All) scheme initially opened with a March 5th deadline for land plot applications and an April 18th deadline for flat applications. Following multiple extensions to these deadlines, the final deadline has now been set for 11:59pm on Monday night.
When asked by Sun about the possibility of an additional extension, the Housing Ministry responded that the application period would not be extended beyond the current deadline.
According to the housing scheme’s regulations, the government plans to allocate a total of 7,900 flats and 15,000 land plots, each measuring 1,250 square feet.
The land plots are being distributed under two categories. The first category is reserved for registered residents of Malé, who will be with allocate land from the Greater Malé Area and Rasmalé. The second category applies to residents of other islands currently residing in Malé, who will be eligible for land plots exclusively from Rasmale’.
