The Anti‑Scam Centre of the Maldives Police has urged the public to beware of scam messages being circulated in the name of Booking.com claiming to offer refunds.
The Centre said new scam messages are being sent using the Booking.com name.
Police said the messages contain phishing links designed to steal card information under the guise of processing a refund.
According to police, the scam message claims a refund is ready and asks recipients to submit their card details within 24 hours to receive the money.
Police have advised the public not to click the link and not to share OTP codes or card information with anyone. They also urged people to verify such claims only through official apps or websites.
Police have asked the public to share the warning to help protect others.
