Ishaq Hussain has resigned from his role as president of the Employment Tribunal.
Ishaq told Sun on Thursday he submitted his letter of resignation to President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu earlier this week.
But he said that President Muizzu has yet to accept his resignation.
Ishaq said that his resignation was due to “personal reasons.”
Ishaq was appointed as president of the Employment Tribunal on April 15, 2024.
Established under the Employment Act, the Employment Tribunal is an independent institution mandated to swiftly and fairly adjudicate workplace disputes between employers and employees. Its primary function is to enforce labor laws, examine grievances, and enforce appropriate remedies or compensation.
