Two young men hospitalized with serious injuries in motorcycle crash

Two young men sustained serious injuries on Tuesday, after the motorcycle they were driving crashed into a car.

A police spokesperson said the accident was reported at around 02:16 pm on Tuesday, and involved a speeding motorcycle that crashed into the back of a car.

The accident took place at the junction of Boduthakurufaanu Magu and Hithigas Magu in Male’ City.

The police said that a 22-year-old Maldivian male was driving the motorcycle, while a 19-year-old Maldivian male was in the backseat.

They both sustained serious injuries in the crash and were rushed to the Indhira Gandhi Memorial Hospital (IGMH).

The details of their injuries are unclear at this point.

The accident is under investigation by the police.
