Father who rescued two children from drowning in Fulidhoo dies while receiving treatment

A man who rescued two children from drowning in V. Fulidhoo has died, police confirmed Friday.

According to police, the man entered the water to save the two children who were struggling while swimming. He was rushed to the island’s health centre in critical condition.

The 63‑year‑old man died while receiving treatment, police said. The two children, who are his own, are reported to be in good condition.

Police told Sun that the incident is under investigation.
