Maldivian pilgrims begin returning home after umrah during Ramadan

Maldivian pilgrims have begun returning to the country from Saudi Arabia after performing umrah pilgrimage during Ramadan.

According to Public Service Media (PSM), a flight carrying the first batch of returning pilgrims from the Maldives Hajj Corporation landed at the Velana International Airport (VIA) in Male’ at 09:30 am Wednesday.

According to PSM, pilgrims will be returning on two flights Wednesday. The first will carry 58 pilgrims, and the second, 60.

The Hajj Corporation arranged umrah for 230 pilgrims registered with the corporation, and also aided 164 pilgrims affected by flight cancellations due to the war in the Middle East.
