Hulhumalé Hospital has begun using a cutting-edge cardiovascular ultrasound system, introducing the latest technology for diagnosing heart conditions.

The “Vivid E95” cardiovascular ultrasound machine, manufactured by the U.S.-based company GE HealthCare, was supplied by STO Healthcare. STO stated that the initiative reflects its continued commitment to equipping healthcare facilities with advanced medical technology and improving access to specialized treatments.

The system was inaugurated alongside an extensive training session for the hospital staff, conducted in collaboration with medical professionals from Tree Top Hospital.

According to STO, the equipment was provided under its strategic partnership with GE HealthCare. The company explained that the GE Vivid E95 is specifically designed to deliver high-resolution images of heart structures, cardiac function, and blood circulation. It is expected to greatly improve the detection of congenital heart defects in newborns and support comprehensive cardiac evaluations for patients across all age groups.

STO further highlighted that the technology will enable doctors to make faster and more precise clinical decisions during treatment. The company emphasized that offering such advanced services within the Maldives marks an important step in strengthening the capabilities of local healthcare institutions and reducing the need for patients to travel abroad for specialized care.
