Health Minister Abdulla Nazim Ibrahim states Addu City’s health system will see revolutionary changes within the current term.

He made the remark during a ceremony held on Saturday night to inaugurate the cath lab and optical shop developed at Addu Equatorial Hospital.              

Speaking during the ceremony, the Minister said improvements in the Maldives’ healthcare system are becoming increasingly visible, with developments in the Male’ region now being replicated across the atolls.

Minister Nazim, who had served as the Health Minister during the PPM administration as well, emphasized that the expansion of the healthcare sector is a key priority of the current administration. He added that President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu is fully committed to addressing all healthcare-related challenges faced by the public.

The Minister underscored that every positive transformation in the healthcare sector plays a vital role in the country’s broader social and national development.

He also outlined the President’s vision to develop Addu City’s healthcare system as an integrated and interconnected network, noting that upgrades to health centers across Addu City’s islands will be complemented by the introduction of several new healthcare services.

He concluded by stating that Addu City’s healthcare system will see revolutionary progress during the current term, marking the beginning of a new phase for medical services in the city.
