MNDF to hold Victory Day events in Male' and Thinadhoo

The Maldives National Defence Force (MNDF) has announced special Victory Day celebrations in Male' and Thinadhoo City.

The commemorations will begin in Male’ on Monday morning with prayers at the Islamic Centre, followed by a Flag Raising and Guard Mounting Ceremony at the November 3 Memorial at 06:00 hrs. A Victory Day gathering will then be held at the Social Centre at 09:00 hrs.

A military parade is scheduled to take place at Republic Square at 16:15 hrs.

MNDF area commands will also conduct morning prayers and flag raising ceremonies in their respective regions.

Additional events include an army photo exhibition, a military presentation, and a children’s event, scheduled for November 7 and 8 in Thinadhoo.

Victory Day marks the defeat of the 1988 coup attempt and honors the sacrifices made to protect the nation’s sovereignty.
